Heard this morning, 7 am:

Makenna: (in the wimpiest, most wimpy wimp voice) Mo-om, my pants are all wet!

Me: Oh no, did you wet the bed? (not a fun thing to wake up to, of course)

Makenna: I guess so.

Christmas 2008

So this is really late, but I still wanted to post about the great holidays our family had. The best part was having Thomas and enjoying Christmas with a baby in the house. He is such a great baby and Travis and Makenna love him so much. It is cute to see how they talk to him and give him loves! This was the cutest little Christmas outfit that I loved putting him in. He was so soft and snuggly! And yes, he was very serious at this point. I had hoped to start getting smiles for Christmas but no luck. The smiles are now here, though (more on that later!)

Travis and Makenna got to see Santa at our ward party! It was so cute how they had the room set up and decorated. Way better than the mall!

Christmas eve- (we are currently going through a I'm-not-sure-how-to-smile-for-the-camera phase: Trav won't show teeth and Makenna is overthinking it!)

New jammies for Christmas Eve! This year was penguin themed!

And Christmas morning was very fun! I love Christmas with little kids and new toys! Here is Trav with the new BatCave! (he was disappointed, however, that some of the wrapped gifts for him were new clothes, which he needed badly, but he thought were lame!)

Both kids had fun opening their gifts! Makenna got Polly Pockets (yikes!) and all the kids got some nice new books from grandparents!

The best part about Christmas is just hanging out all day and being together as a family! We had visits from family before and after Christmas that were really fun also. I feel bad that sometimes things get so busy during the holidays that I wish they were over, but I always go back and realize how much fun we had as a family and how magical that time of year is! We had a great 2008!

Makenna, in the car the other day: Hey Mom, if you had more arms, like 20,000, you could brush my hair, give the baby a bath, cook breakfast, and fold the laundry. (all at once I am assuming!)

Travis, this morning: Autobots (the good transformers) can breath underwater and in outer space? AWESOME!

I wish I had my camera

I took the kids to the park today and I was wishing I had my camera to take video and pictures. First they were over on the hill rolling down it and having so much fun. Then they were walking back to the playground and Travis was in the middle of Makenna and Maissie (her friend that was with us) and they were all holding hands! It was so cute! I know Travis wanted to have a friend there too, but he was content to play with the girls and when I saw them all holding hands, I was so grateful that he is such a mellow kid and so easy going. Anyway, I just didn't want to forget! It was a fun time at the park!

It's Game Day!!!

The University of Utah football team is about to play in the BCS SUGAR BOWL!!! As Derek and I are both alumni, and my bro-in-law used to play for the Utes football team, we are so excited! What a great season we have had!!
